Male fertility hypnosis can help with some common issues experienced by men struggling with their fertility.

Factors that affect male fertility:

Stress – sperm quality can be negatively impacted by stress, alongside lifestyle factors. When stressed or anxious, there is a release ‘fight or flight’ hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol. High levels of cortisol due to stress can impede testosterone production, a hormone essential for sperm production. Being in such a state of stress isn’t conducive to fertility. When calm and relaxed, the body produces the hormones oxytocin which is crucial for motility of sperm; serotonin is also important for sperm motility and regulating the release of GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone), an essential hormone to the reproductive cycle; dopamine also impacts sperm motility and the ability of sperm to penetrate the egg; reducing stress, exercising releases endorphins. Stress can also be a cause of erectile dysfunction and lowered libido.

Age – generally, male fertility reduces as sperm quality decreased between 40 to 45 years. Increased male age reduces the chance of getting pregnant and increases the time taken to get pregnant.

Smoking – smoking can affect male fertility, reducing the quality of the sperm.

Alcohol – whilst recommended guidelines are no more than 14 units of alcohol per week, alcohol consumption can affect sperm quality.

Excess weight – Obesity can cause hormone imbalances which can affect fertility. Eating a healthy balanced diet can improve sperm quality.

STIs – can result in infertility if left untreated.

Environmental factors – male fertility can be negatively affected by pesticides, certain chemicals such as solvents.
